Created by the states to ensure cooperative efforts in the transfer of supervised offenders, the Interstate Commission for Adult Offender Supervision (ICAOS) provides states and their Commissioners with oversight and assistance in administering the Interstate Compact for Adult Offender Supervision. National Criminal Justice Association (NCJA) exists to promote the development of justice systems in states, tribal nations, and units of local government that enhance public safety; prevent and reduce the harmful effects of criminal and delinquent behavior on victims, individuals and communities; adjudicate defendants and sanction offenders fairly and justly; and that are effective and efficient. The National Organization for Victim Assistance is a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization of victim and witness assistance programs and practitioners, criminal justice agencies and professionals, mental health professionals, researchers, former victims and survivors, and others committed to the recognition and implementation of victim rights and services. The National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) is a comprehensive collection and distribution center for information, statistics, and resources related to sexual violence. It serves as a resource for state, territory, and tribal anti-sexual assault coalitions, rape crisis centers, allied organizations, community projects, policy-makers, government entities, media, educators, health care providers and others working to address and eliminate sexual assault. Since 1984 the Office of Justice Programs has provided federal leadership in developing the nation's capacity to prevent and control crime, improve the criminal and juvenile justice systems, increase knowledge about crime and related issues, and assist crime victims. OJP's senior management team - comprised of the Assistant Attorney General (AAG), the Deputy Assistant Attorney General (DAAG), and the five bureau heads - works together with dedicated managers and line staff to carry out this mission. The Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) was established by the 1984 Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) to oversee diverse programs that benefit victims of crime. OVC provides substantial funding to state victim assistance and compensation programs—the lifeline services that help victims to heal. The agency supports trainings designed to educate criminal justice and allied professionals regarding the rights and needs of crime victims. To provide support and assistance to all survivors of homicide victims while working to create a world free of murder. To educate prospective students, parents and the campus community about the prevalence of crime on our nation's college and university campuses. To compassionately assist victims and their families with guidance pertaining to laws, victims' organizations, legal counsel and access to Security On Campus, Inc. files. To foster security improvements through campus community initiatives. To provide effective procedures and programs to reduce alcohol and drug abuse. The National Center for Victims of Crime is the nation's leading resource and advocacy organization for crime victims.
